  • Scroll mouse wheel forward to zoom in
  • Scroll mouse wheel backward to zoom out

Center model

Return to the general view of the complete model with a single click.

How to do it:

  • Click the target button () on the left toolbar

Note: This button is especially useful when you’ve zoomed far or lost orientation.

Element selection

Select a single element

Select an individual element from the model to see its properties.

How to do it:

  1. Make sure the selection tool (cursor) is active
  2. Left click on the element in the model

Result:

  • Category - Component type (wall, door, window, etc.)
  • Properties - Dimensions, materials, codes, etc.
  • Location - Position in the project

Filter properties

Use the side panel to navigate the project’s hierarchical structure and find specific elements.

Category filtering

Use categories

Restrict visualization to specific element types.

How to do it:

  1. Open the categories panel in the side panel
  2. Check or uncheck the categories you want to see
  3. The model updates automatically

Benefits:

Selection tips

  • Select in perspective - Easier in perspective view than orthographic
  • Use zoom for precision - Zoom in before selecting small elements
  • Combine filters - Use categories + selection for focused analysis
  • Explore properties - Each element may contain valuable information
  • Real-time properties - Properties update immediately

Common issues

I can’t select an element

Solutions:

  • Verify that the selection tool is active (icon is lit)
  • The element might be hidden - check category filters
  • Try zooming in to be more precise
  • Check that no other elements are blocking it

I selected something I didn’t want

Solutions:

  • Click on an empty area to deselect all
  • Ctrl+Click to remove individual elements from selection
  • Press ESC to quickly deselect

Practice these controls until they become natural! Smooth navigation is key to effective BIM analysis.
