BIM
BIM Visualization Center
The BIM (Building Information Modeling) module of Visionhub allows you to visualize, interact with, and analyze 3D models of construction and infrastructure projects in an intuitive and powerful way.
What is BIM?
BIM is a collaborative methodology that integrates all project information into structured 3D models. Visionhub offers professional tools for:
- Exploring 3D models with fluid navigation and intuitive controls
- Selecting and analyzing elements to get detailed properties
- Taking precise measurements (distances, areas, volumes)
- Creating cross-sections for space analysis
- Managing visibility of components for specific analysis
- Comparing views from different camera angles
Main features
Navigation and Selection
Select model elements, get detailed information, and manage your selection with intuitive tools.
→ Go to Navigation and Selection
Measurements
Measure linear distances, surface areas, and space volumes with precision.
Sections and Cuts
Create cutting planes to visualize the interior of structures and complex spaces.
Visibility Control
Show, hide, and isolate elements for focused analysis.
Views and Cameras
Save custom views and compare different perspectives of the model.
Main interface
The BIM viewer is organized into three main areas:
- 3D Viewport (center) - Interactive model visualization
- Side panel (right) - Element explorer, properties, and categories
- Tool bar (left) - Quick access to all functions
Basic controls
| Action | Control |
|---|---|
| Rotate view | Right click + drag |
| Pan (move) | Middle click + drag |
| Zoom | Mouse wheel |
| Select element | Left click |
| Deselect all | Click on empty space |
| Reset view | ”Center model” button |
| Cancel active tool | ESC key |
Visualization modes
Perspective (default)
Provides a more realistic and natural view of three-dimensional space, ideal for general exploration.
Orthographic
Offers distortion-free views, perfect for technical analysis and measurements.
Usage tips
- Start with a general view before diving into specific details
- Use the side panel to explore the project’s hierarchical structure
- Apply category filters to focus on specific elements
- Save important views for quick reference
- Combine tools (selection + measurement) for complex analysis
